These core classes will equip leaders to learn the basics of the Catholic Faith and begin sharing their faith with others.
Those who complete all of the core classes will be given a certificate to certify that they possess the knowledge to start a Bible Study, a Small Group, or Prayer Group.
This class is designed for its students to be able to engage more fully in Catholic worship and prayer through engagement with the Mass. Students will learn the signs, symbols, and history of the Catholic liturgy. This class illustrates how theology begins with the corporate prayer of the Church. The Story of The Bible
This class gives its students an overview of the big story of the Bible through engaging the different sections of the Bible such as the Pentateuch, the Historical and Wisdom literature, the Gospels, and the Letters of the New Testament. In getting a sense of the whole story of the Bible, this class will tell the story of the word of God found in Christ. October 8, 15, 22, 29 , (Hrico Room) 7-8:30pm
What We Believe
This class will engage its students in the foundations of Catholic doctrine and dogma including the study of the Trinitarian Theology, The Sacraments, and the Economy of Salvation.November 8, 15, 22, 29 (DePalma Room) 11:30am-1pm
Moral Theology and Social Teaching
This class will discuss the moral and ethical life of the Church through engaging the theological and cardinal virtues, natural law, and Catholic Social Teaching. Nov 5, 12, 19, December 3 (Hrico Room)7-8:30pm
